Track sprinting star Gout Gout has capped off an incredible weekend by eclipsing one of Australia's oldest records, the 200m mark set by Peter Norman at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics.
The 16-year old clocked 20.04 at the Australian All Schools Championships in Brisbane, edging Norman's longstanding record of 20.06.
Gout already had the under 16, under 18 and under 20 records in his keeping prior to Saturday's incredible run.
Earlier in the weekend Gout ran 10.04 in the 100m heat, before going on to win the final in 10.17.
The 10.04 marker was not eligible for records due to heavy tail winds, but it is the 4th fastest time by an Australian in any conditions.
16-year old Thewbelle Philp also made headlines at the championships as she ran 11.38 seconds, which clocks as the third fastest Australian under 18 time ever. Only Raelene Boyle and Torrie Lewis have recorded faster times.
Terrell Thorne also entered the record books, as he broke a national under 18 record in the 400m with a time of 45.6 seconds.
