Suns snap up SA Magarey Medallist

After a lowly placed finish in 2021 after the regular AFL season, fans of the Gold Coast Suns had little to cheer for.

However the franchise’s latest capture may well lift spirits.

James Tsitas revelled in an explosive 2021 season with Woodville-West Torrens in the SANFL.

However, the jury may still be out for last year’s 2021 Magarey Medallist, who averaged 28.6 disposals last season.

Many ex-players that played at the highest level will agree that entering into the AFL at 26 is no walk in the park.

Tsitas’ move was enabled as a result of the fact that Gold Coast left a list spot vacant after the 2021 NAB AFL Draft period.

Tsitas, who formerly played for and captained Geelong’s VFL team, has the honour of being known as the first and only player to have won the prestigious Magarey Medal since Woodville and West Torrens officially merged.
