A man has been arrested after a grass fire led police to a large cannabis crop at Mobilong on Friday morning.
At about 10.30 am on Friday, Murray Bridge police were called to a Kuchel Road property after reports of a grass fire.
Fire crews quickly attended and extinguished the fire which burnt a few hundred square metres of land. As a result of attending the fire and during the investigation, patrols located a large cannabis crop on the property.
Police located and seized approximately 40 plants being grown hydroponically and a substantial amount of cash.
The occupant, a 62-year-old man, was arrested and charged with cultivating a commercial quantity of cannabis, possessing a commercial quantity of cannabis and unlawful possession. He was granted police bail to attend the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on 20 December.
