Ebony Marinoff honoured as AFLW’s Best and Fairest

Adelaide Crows star Ebony Marinoff on Monday night was crowned the AFLW's Best and Fairest Player for the first time during the W Awards at Crown Palladium in Melbourne.

In a brilliant season in which she averaged personal best numbers, Marinoff polled 23 votes to narrowly trump North Melbourne's Ash Riddell on 20 at the end of a tight count.

Marinoff averaged 30.5 disposals per game as well as 12.2 tackles and 6.4 clearances.

She claimed the AFLW's highest individual honour after being named to her 7th All Australian team earlier in the night. North Melbourne star Jasmine Garner also made her 7th All Australian team as 12 first-timers were named in the side.

Adelaide and Brisbane led the way with 4 players named in the team of the year each, while North Melbourne and Fremantle had 3.

Though prelim finalists Port Adelaide had no All Australians, their youth was highlighted earlier in the night as star ruck Matilda Schultz won the Rising Star Award and power teammate Shineah Goody was runner-up.

Schultz also won the Mark of the Year Award, while Crows forward Hannah Munyard won Goal of the Year.
