Boomers stars shine in NBA wins for Hawks, Bulls

Writer: Flow AustraliaFlow Australia

Dyson Daniels and Josh Giddey each played one of their best games of the NBA season as the Atlanta Hawks and Chicago Bulls both scored wins.

Daniels scored 19 points and added six rebounds and four steals in a masterclass performance on both ends of the floor against his former team, the New Orleans Pelicans.

The 12-point victory was Daniels' second win against his former team this year, and the first time he squared off against guard Dejounte Murray, for whom the Pelicans traded Daniels.

Daniels thoroughly outplayed Murray, potentially leaving the Pelicans with some buyer's remorse.

New Orleans traded Daniels and a myriad of other assets for Murray in the off-season, but have had to watch with regret as Daniels has blossomed into the exact type of player they were hoping to add when they acquired Murray.

In Chicago, Giddey recorded his first triple double as a member of the Bulls as he led his side to a dominant 26-point win over the Brooklyn Nets.

Giddey totalled 20 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists in just 32 minutes of game time as the Bulls cruised to victory.

It was Giddey's equal highest points and rebounds tally for the year, and his second-highest assist mark.
